Sleeping naked makes your body relaxed and comfortable and is great for your mental health as well

Getting to sleep uninterrupted and peacefully is the biggest gift anyone can get. According to experts, getting a good night’s sleep is as important for your health as eating a balanced, nutritious diet and exercising. Most people need 7 to 9 hours. While it is natural to desire a comfortable sleeping environment, shedding your pyjamas may be a part of that.
Sleeping naked does seem to be unconventional, and many people would be hesitant due to concerns like making nighttime bathroom trips. However, experts say not only does it make your body relaxed and comfortable but this hack is super beneficial as well. From physical health benefits to an improved romantic life, there are several reasons to consider ditching your sleepwear and embracing the freedom of sleeping nude.

Benefits of sleeping naked

Better sleep quality

Nude sleeping would mean that your body temperature goes down. Doctors say cooling your body helps you fall asleep faster and improves your overall sleep quality. The ideal temperature for your bedroom should be around 60–67°F (15 to 19°C).
If it is too cold or too hot, you risk impacting your rapid eye movement sleep, which is the dream stage that refreshes your brain and body. Sleeping naked is one way to stay cool beneath the covers.

Weight loss

Sleeping naked also helps in weight loss—by revving up your metabolism.
According to experts, this drop in temperature can also rev your metabolism and contribute to better hormonal regulation, including the production of sleep-related hormones like melatonin. Also, in a study, researchers found that when people slept in a chilly room, they produced double the volume of brown fat, a healthy fat stored in your neck that burns calories to generate body heat—compared to when they slept in a warmer room.

Lowers stress

Sleeping without clothes also helps reduce your overall stress and anxiety, thereby improving your mental health. According to experts, long-term sleep disturbance causes persistent depressive symptoms and suicidal ideation in those who live with depression.
While stress and anxiety can both lead to insomnia, it is also important to remember that improving your sleep quality and getting enough time to sleep can make you feel energized, fresh, and tension-free.

Keeps your skin healthy

Sleeping naked also improves your skin quality. Studies say poor sleep leads to dark spots and late recoveries from marks and acne. Getting enough sleep also helps your skin to recover and stay healthy, and if sleeping naked helps that happen, even better.

Lowers risk of heart disease and type 2 diabetes

Lack of sleep can lead to high blood sugar levels and type 2 diabetes, which is also a precursor to heart issues. And so, sleeping naked, which helps regulate your snooze, spikes your ability to fall asleep and stay asleep, making all the difference when it comes to your health.

Increases male fertility

According to studies, men who wear tight-fitting underwear while sleeping end up with lower sperm count. And so, nude sleeping is a great way to keep testicles cool and at an optimal temperature for sperm health.
