High in fibre, calcium, and iron, both of them are a powerhouse of good health and well-being

Starting your morning with something energizing, refreshing, and healthy not only sets the tone for the rest of the day but also helps you keep fit in the long run. Drinking seed water helps you hydrate, regulate digestion, and even lower hunger, which supports weight loss.
There are various seeds you can soak in water, and the best among them, according to experts, are chia and coriander seeds. High in fibre, calcium, and iron, both of them are a powerhouse of good health and well-being.

What is coriander water?

Coriander water is a simple infusion you can make by soaking or boiling coriander seeds in water. Known for its aromatic flavour, coriander seeds are a staple in Indian cooking with many medicinal properties as well. The seeds are rich in essential oils, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, making coriander water a natural remedy for many health conditions.
Drinking coriander seed water has amazing digestive properties and helps alleviate symptoms of indigestion, bloating, gas, and even constipation. Coriander seed water is also good for your gut health.
According to studies, dhaniya water is also good for your heart health, and regular consumption can lower high blood pressure and cholesterol levels. Also, drinking this magical water can help women ease their period cramps and balance hormones as well.

Chia seeds water for health benefits

When you soak chia seeds in water, they absorb the liquid and can become up to 12 times their original size. The result would be a gelatinous mixture with a slightly chewy texture, similar to miniature tapioca pearls.
Chia seed water is a simple beverage some people use to help reduce feelings of hunger and support weight loss goals.
Apart from that, chia seeds, high in antioxidants and caffeic acid, also offer anti-inflammatory effects, contributing to various diseases, including cardiovascular disease and cancer. Since they are packed with fibre and omega-3 fatty acids, chia seed water also supports blood sugar management. It helps lower the risk of metabolic syndrome and type 2 diabetes.
Also, the fibre in chia seeds adds bulk to your stool and keeps things moving through your digestive tract. Fibre also provides nutrients that support the healthy bacteria in your gut microbiome.
While it is great for your overall health, consuming an enormous amount of chia seed water could also potentially increase your risk of constipation. According to experts, constipation related to high fibre intake typically occurs if you do not drink enough water. And so, if you are new to chia seeds or any high-fibre foods, be sure to stay hydrated.

Which is better among the two?

Experts say while both are great for your health, coriander seeds, with 70 per cent less saturated fat than chia seeds and more vitamin C, can help you get stronger bones and boost weight loss faster.
However, if you are looking for a protein boost, you must know that chia seed has 34 per cent more protein than coriander seed—chia seed has 16.5g of protein per 100 grams and coriander seed has 12.4 grams of protein.
