Real-Life Weight Loss Story: Becoming a parent can be life-changing in more ways than one, and for 27-year-old Jagadish Vijay, it was the turning point that helped him start his transformative fitness journey. When he found out he was going to be a dad, he didn’t just want to tell his child that anything is possible—he wanted to prove it by example.
Finding the Right Guidance
His weight loss journey began with FITTR, where he initially aimed to clean up his lifestyle and shed a few kilos. But everything changed when he met his coach, Rohit Uchil. "I was running around clueless until Rohit set a goal for me. He believed in me more than I ever did, and that belief kept me going," Jagadish shares.
The Transformation: From 85 kg to 65 kg
Starting at 85 kg, he dropped to 80 kg when he officially began training for a competition. By the time he stepped on stage on December 1, 2024, he had reached 65 kg. The transformation didn’t happen overnight. "We started prepping in May 2024, but my actual journey began in January 2023."
Challenges Along the Way
Of course, the road wasn’t easy. The toughest challenge? Saying no to social gatherings, festivals, birthdays, and, most heartbreakingly, his mom’s home-cooked meals. "With a business to run and a one-year-old to look after, every day was different. But I had to ensure that my diet, sleep, and workouts remained consistent," he says.
His biggest motivation? Not breaking his coach’s trust and, more importantly, not being a quitter in his child’s eyes.
Workout Routine and Diet
Jagadish worked out six days a week—sometimes even seven if he felt he hadn’t pushed himself enough. He clocked in 10,000 to 12,000 steps daily and relied on a protein-rich diet consisting of fish, eggs, and paneer.
Overcoming Setbacks
But there were setbacks too. "I had to cancel my first competition because my baby fell sick just days before it. Taking a break and getting back on track was tough, but I reminded myself why I started in the first place," he recalls.
More Than Just Weight Loss
His journey wasn’t just about physical transformation—it was about self-discovery. "I've never been good at anything. I never played sports and never knew what I wanted. But I just started, and everything else fell into place. Whatever point in life you’re at—just start. Let the universe see how obsessed you are."
Inspiration For ManyThe most rewarding part? Inspiring his parents, both in their 50s, to adopt a healthier lifestyle. "Now, they exercise, eat clean, and have even managed to reverse some of their health issues."
For Jagadish, this journey has been more than just losing weight. It’s been about proving to himself—and his child—that anything is possible with commitment and dedication.
