The Dal And Rice That You Are Eating Is Contaminated! (Image: Canva)

Nothing like a plate of dal and rice, right? It is the ultimate comfort food for most Indians. And let's face it, there is nothing that comes close to devouring a plate of warm rice with dal on top of it, along with your favourite pickle. But what if we tell you that even your dal, rice and roti is adulterated and harming your health?
In an exclusive conversation with Times Now Digital, Lifestyle Coach Luke Coutinho explained how adulterated foods are massively affecting our health. In fact, he says your health problems are not just because of the toxins in the air but also because of the adulterated food that you are consuming daily.
He said, "Our bodies can get away with a small amount of pesticides but what do you do when it is getting build up every day in the human body. If you ask me, today most people are getting sick because of the quality of air, water and food." Luke further explains, "The quality of our food is creating inflammation in our body. According to data, India leads the world when it comes to inflammatory diseases. Meaning, there is a huge co-relation in the food we eat and our health."
This is where the Pink Tiger Stamp comes to use. Luke, along with entrepreneur Narendra Firodia, have launched You Care Lifestyle, an independent verification and authentication platform. The platform, introduced through the Pink Tiger verification stamp. Along with many things, this stamp will look at staples. Luke explains, "We are hoping to look at staples and not fancy food. With that we are hoping to clean that part of the food chain and leave India with top 5 brands that are authentic and people can trust."

How To Stay Protected From Adulterated Food?

Luke explains that this is something which is out of our control. However, he says, it is important to understand that we have an immune system and the job of this is to protect us. "If we enable our immune systems to work stronger, we do have that guard against those extra pesticides and pollution."
It is very important to keep a few things in check to build a strong immune system, including - food, sleep, stress levels, exercise. Luke concluded by saying, "We live in a country like India, where we share traditions, with the world - on meditation, pranayam, tools to calm down and we yet don't use them as we should."
