Studies say oleocanthal acts in the same way as ibuprofen to stifle components of a pain pathway known as the prostaglandin system.
Doctors say the best way to check for oleocanthal is to sip the oil neat and see how strongly it stings the throat. Once you have found the right oil, it is recommended to drink around 20mls, or a tablespoon, every morning on an empty stomach and wait 20 minutes before eating or drinking anything else.

Turn off the lights

Whenever you have a migraine attack, make sure to turn off the light and sound and relax in the dark, quiet room. Try to sleep to rest out the pain.

Try temperature therapy

You can apply hot or cold compresses to your head or neck – as they help either numb the area to dull the pain or relax tense muscles.

Sip a caffeinated drink

Try drinking tea or coffee in small amounts to relieve migraine pain in the early stages. However, be careful, as drinking too much caffeine too often can lead to withdrawal headaches later on

Do not skip meals

It is important that when you have a migraine attack, eat in small quantities. Don’t skip your meals as fasting increases the risk of migraines.

Exercise

During physical activity, your body releases certain chemicals that block pain signals to your brain. These chemicals also help reduce anxiety and depression - two main conditions that can make migraines worse.
