Sara Ali Khan Recounts Horrors Of Dealing With PCOS; 'It's Much More Than Weight Gain' | Exclusive. (Image: Instagram)

Excessive hair growth, irregular periods, unexplained weight gain, extreme mood swings - all of these things point towards one condition that has been too prevalent in the recent times - the Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. According to multiple reports, at least one in five women are diagnosed with this condition in our country. "There have been times when I’ve felt exhausted, anxious, and completely overwhelmed," says Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan while recounting her battle with PCOS.
Sara has often spoken candidly about how PCOS affected her physical and mental well-being. In an exclusive conversation with Times Now Digital, Sara said, "I’ve personally experienced this with PCOS, it’s not just about weight gain or skin issues; it affects your energy levels, your mood, and even your confidence. When your body isn’t feeling its best, it’s natural for it to take a toll on your mind as well."

She further explained that this experience made her learn how the key is to listen to her body, be patient and take care of herself in the best way she can. "Whether it’s through regular exercise, mindful eating, or simply maintaining a positive mindset, small efforts can make a big difference. At the end of the day, self-love and acceptance are just as important as any physical change!"
The conversation was in reference to how your physical health can affect your mental well-being. A recent research, called, Feel Good With Fiama Mental Wellbeing Survey, sheds light on the importance of keeping your mental health in check at all times.

Sara Ali Khan Message For Young Girls

On being asked what she wants to say to the young girls battling PCOS, Sara says, "I just want to say, I see you, and I understand. I’ve been there too, and I know how frustrating it can be when your body doesn’t respond the way you want it to."
She further explained how curing PCOS is way beyond losing weight and fixing skin issues. "It’s about feeling strong, healthy, and confident in your own skin."
Some small and sustainable changes like eating right, staying active, and managing stress can make a huge difference. "But most importantly, don’t be too hard on yourself. Every journey is different, and progress takes time. Love yourself at every step, and remember, you are so much more than any condition!" Sara pointed out.
And rightly so! Many experts have time and again spoken about how some lifestyle alterations can reverse this condition. At the end of the day, it all comes down to treating your body right.
