Real-Life Weight Loss Story: Long working hours, constant travel, and job stress can take a serious toll on our health. Late shifts, irregular schedules, and poor eating habits often lead to unwanted weight gain, leaving us feeling drained and sluggish. For Ankita Sahu, a 30-year-old Construction Project Manager, this was her reality. Juggling a demanding 14-hour work schedule and frequent travel, she found herself with no energy, unhealthy eating habits, and a body that didn’t feel like her own. But Ankita decided to take charge, and within 1.5 years, she transformed her life—losing 20kg and gaining a new identity. But how did she do it? What was her turning point? What did she eat to transform herself? Let’s check!
The Turning Point
Before her weight loss journey, Ankita weighed 85kg. She often felt sluggish, mentally exhausted, and lacked the motivation to stay active. "I had no control over my food choices. I would eat whatever was available," she said.
The breakthrough came when she saw the dedication and transformation of others in fitness communities like JC’s and Fittr. Their commitment and discipline inspired her to take the first step toward prioritizing her health. "I wanted to feel better, both mentally and physically. I knew I needed to make a change," she adds.
The Challenges Of A Hectic Work Life
Ankita’s biggest challenge was her demanding job. "With 14-hour shifts, constant travel, and no stability, I struggled to find time for the gym. The stress of work often made it difficult to focus on my fitness goals," she shares.
But she was determined. She found ways to make her fitness journey work around her schedule. "Even on the busiest days, I committed to small, consistent steps—whether it was making better food choices or fitting in a quick workout whenever possible," Ankita said.
Diet And Exercise She Followed For Her Weight Loss Transformation
Unlike restrictive diets, Ankita took a sustainable approach with the help of her coach. "The best part about my diet was that my coach told me, 'Buy whatever you want to eat, and I’ll adjust your intake accordingly.' This flexibility made it easier to stick to my plan."
She also had weekly one-on-one discussions with her coach to analyse progress and make necessary changes. "Instead of following a rigid plan, we adjusted my diet and workouts based on my body’s response each week."
Staying Motivated Throughout The Journey
During moments of doubt and exhaustion, Ankita found support from her coach. "There were times I felt demotivated, but my coach’s constant encouragement kept me going. Having someone genuinely invested in my progress made all the difference," she said.
Seeing the results of her hard work also fueled her motivation. "Once you start noticing changes—feeling lighter, more active, and healthier—it pushes you to keep going."
Overcoming Setbacks and Staying Committed
Like any transformation, Ankita faced setbacks. "Life threw challenges at me, but every time I felt low or like I was failing, I spoke to my coach. She wasn’t just a fitness coach; she was also my life coach. Talking through my struggles helped me stay focused."
She shared the importance of trusting the process. "It’s not just about the number on the scale. It’s about building a lifestyle habit that lasts."
The Results: Reaching Her Weight Loss Goal
After 1.5 years of consistency, Ankita lost 20kg, bringing her weight down from 85 kg to 65kg. But the changes were more than just physical.
"My periods are now regular, my skin looks better, and I feel more energetic and active. I recover from illnesses faster, and I’ve saved money by making healthier food choices. Even at social events, I now know exactly what to eat and how much. My sleep quality has improved, and most importantly, I’ve learned discipline," she said.
Ankita’s Advice for Others
For those considering a transformation, Ankita has one simple piece of advice: "Results or no results, just believe in yourself and your coach’s work. Keep going. Don’t just rely on scale numbers—understand the impact on non-scale factors too. This journey isn’t just about losing or gaining weight; it’s about creating a sustainable, healthy lifestyle."
Despite the obstacles of a hectic job and an unbalanced routine, she proved that with commitment and the right guidance, anything is possible!
